Day 8:Kumarakom To Kochi By Surface (05 Hrs Drive)

Depart from Kumarakom to Kochi. Your city tour begins with a visit to Fort Cochin, including stops at St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and the iconic Chinese fishing nets. Explore the historical Mattanchery Palace and the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth, the Jewish Synagogue. In the evening, witness the captivating Kathakali Dance performance, a classical dance-drama rooted in Hindu mythology. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural experience of Kerala’s traditional art form.

Experience the enchanting Kathakali Dance performance in the evening. Originating from the 17th century, Kathakali is a classical dance-drama deeply rooted in Hindu mythology, showcasing a unique blend of literature, music, painting, acting, and dance. This art form features elaborate masks and costumes, drawing heavily from drama. Unlike other dance forms that may prioritize emotion over narrative, Kathakali seamlessly combines both. The performances, often lengthy, bring myth and legend to life in the temple courtyards of Kerala. Dancers, adorned in stunning costumes and makeup, accompanied by drums and vocalists, skillfully evoke a range of moods and emotions.

Then, another peaceful overnight stay.
