Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:Arrive Kochi

Upon your arrival in Kochi, you’ll be greeted with the warmest of welcomes and assisted with your transfer to the hotel, where you can unwind and rejuvenate for the adventure that awaits.

Embark on a scenic journey from Kochi to Munnar by road. Nestled at the convergence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala, Munnar stands at an elevation of 1600 meters above sea level. Once the favoured summer retreat of the British Government in South India, Munnar captivates with its expansive tea plantations, charming towns, meandering lanes, and opportunities for trekking. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3:Munnar

Munnar, renowned for its tea plantations, unveils its natural splendour. Explore the exotic flora, including the Neelakurinji flower that bathes the hills in blue once every twelve years (next bloom in 2006 AD). Munnar is also home to South India’s highest peak, Anamudi, standing tall at 2695 meters—a haven for enthusiastic campers and trekkers. Begin your day with a visit to the tea factory and gardens. (Please note that the tea factory is closed on Mondays.) Enjoy another peaceful night at the hotel.

Set out for Periyar, a destination brimming with sightseeing opportunities. The name Thekkady conjures images of elephants, endless hills, and spice-scented plantations. Explore the rich flora and fauna of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, ensuring an exhilarating experience. Check in at the hotel upon arrival and enjoy an overnight stay.

Embark on a morning spice garden tour before heading to Alleppey. Upon reaching Alleppey, board a traditional houseboat, locally known as Kettuvallams. These unique barges, historically used for transporting goods, offer a captivating cruise experience through the picturesque backwaters of Kerala. Please note that the air conditioning will operate from 2100 hrs to 0600 hrs during your houseboat stay. Spend a serene night on the houseboat.

Day 6:Alleppey To Kumarakom

After breakfast, journey to Kumarakom, situated on the banks of the scenic Vembanad Lake. The picturesque Vembanad Lake, a part of Kuttanad, showcases its majestic canals, streams, and distributaries. Enjoy the enchanting beauty of the fringed palms reflecting in the blue waters. The waterways of Kuttanad offer a unique experience as you cruise through them, witnessing the breathtaking greens and deep blues. Check-in at the hotel and spend the night in comfort.

Day 7:Kumarakom

Relax and unwind at the hotel with a leisure day, free from transportation. Enjoy another peaceful overnight stay.

Day 8:Kumarakom To Kochi By Surface (05 Hrs Drive)

Depart from Kumarakom to Kochi. Your city tour begins with a visit to Fort Cochin, including stops at St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and the iconic Chinese fishing nets. Explore the historical Mattanchery Palace and the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth, the Jewish Synagogue. In the evening, witness the captivating Kathakali Dance performance, a classical dance-drama rooted in Hindu mythology. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural experience of Kerala’s traditional art form.

Experience the enchanting Kathakali Dance performance in the evening. Originating from the 17th century, Kathakali is a classical dance-drama deeply rooted in Hindu mythology, showcasing a unique blend of literature, music, painting, acting, and dance. This art form features elaborate masks and costumes, drawing heavily from drama. Unlike other dance forms that may prioritize emotion over narrative, Kathakali seamlessly combines both. The performances, often lengthy, bring myth and legend to life in the temple courtyards of Kerala. Dancers, adorned in stunning costumes and makeup, accompanied by drums and vocalists, skillfully evoke a range of moods and emotions.

Then, another peaceful overnight stay.
